BUSINESS VISA TO RUSSIA

OVERVIEW

Standard business visa issued to citizens of UK,Germany, Poland and other countries or stateless persons entering the Russian Federation for business purposes (conducting negotiations, holding seminars, conferences or meetings with business partners).

This visa is issued on the basis of an invitation issued by the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation (FMS of Russia), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (MFA of Russia) or a written invitation from an organization.

It may be single-entry or double-entry with a period of validity of 90 days, or multi-entry and valid for 1 year (unless stipulated otherwise under an international agreement with the Russian Federation).

Please note - You may not stay in the Russian Federation on a multi-entry standard business visa for more than 90 days in any 180-day period.

To obtain a multiple-entry visa valid for one year or more, please provide your original medical insurance policy document, valid in the territory of the Russian Federation and covering the day of entry/entries to the Russian Federation.

An original written invitation. This document must be submitted on the official form and contain the full details of the inviting organization, and the following data:

For the individual invited: first name, surname, date of birth, gender, nationality, number of document confirming identity, purpose and duration of visit, number of entries, route;

For the legal entity (company or organization) issuing the invitation: the full name of the legal entity, its address, its individual tax-payer number, registration number, the name and position of the person signing the invitation and the organization's stamp;

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

In order to apply for a standard, single-entry, double-entry or multi-entry business visa, the following must be submitted:

Invitation to enter the Russian Federation issued by the Federal Migration Service; or

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia's decision to issue a visa; or

An original written application from the Russian organization hosting the visitor;

Original passport containing at least 2 blank visa pages, valid for a period of 6 months after the visa expires;

Online application form completed on the website visa.kdmid.ru, printed and signed in person by the applicant;

Original medical insurance policy document, valid in the territory of the Russian Federation and covering the entire duration of the visa.

Please note - The medical insurance policy must contain:

the date when the agreement was signed;

the policy number;

the full name of the person insured;

full details of the insurer;

the policy must cover the entire period of stay in Russia for single-entry and dual-entry visas, and the duration of the first trip for multi-entry visas;

a list of medical and medical-transport services provided for, including repatriation;

the minimum amount of cover must be 30,000 EUR;

the territory must be Worldwide, the Russian Federation, or Europe including Russia;

the signature of the insurer.

Only insurance policies from Russian insurance organizations or those insurance organizations which have entered into re-insurance agreements with Russian insurance organizations licensed to provide this type of insurance, or have an agreement with a service (assistance) organization which arranges medical assistance (medical and transport services), to the same extent or greater than that stipulated in the list of minimum requirements will be accepted.

Insurance policies and confirmation letters which do not contain the information above and standard forms stamped by the insurer will not be accepted.

Original and copy of a valid German residence permit (not required if you are nationals of the USA and Lichtenstein).

Financial document. One of the following

Bank statement

Payslip

Student card

Employers contract

Letter from the employer

Please note - The Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Federal Republic of Germany may require additional documents before issuing a visa, invite you to an interview or extend the time required for consideration of your visa application.

Payment of the consular and service charges may be made at the Visa Centre.

Please note - If you are not a national of Germany, you need to provide the following documents:

German permanent residence permit which is valid for more than 90 days and is required from the nationals of the following countries: Albania, Bahrain, Venezuela, Haiti, Egypt, Ireland, Lesotho, Libya, Macedonia, Mali, Mexico, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea, South Africa, Japan.

According to the national legislation the documentary evidence for the permanent stay in Germany for more than 90 days can be a student visa or work visa, a work permit, a short-term residence permit, a limited residence permit etc.

German unlimited residence permit or other equivalent document are required from the nationals of the following countries: Algeria, Angola, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Georgia, India, Iraq, Iran, China, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Ruanda, Syria, Somali, Chad, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia.

Notice! If you would like to submit an application for a third party (family members, friends, colleagues, etc.) or a group of people, additionally to the list of documents above following documents are required:

A power of attorney for submission of the application included passport data (full name, date of birth, passport number) of the applicant and of the applicant's representative. Attention! When applying for children under 16, a birth certificate must be attached. When applying for other people's children - a power of attorney from parent, copy of passport from parent, birth certificate.

PROCESSING TIME

The Embassy of the Russian Federation processes visa applications and decide whether or not to issue a visa within the processing times service standards (usually between 4 and 20working days). This is subject to a complete set of documents being provided and consular fees paid.

The processing times may vary according to the decision of the Embassy of the Russian Federation.

In emergency cases an urgent visa application may be submitted. In such cases the processing time can be shortened to just 3 working days or less, if an order to that effect has been given by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Federal Migration Service of Russia or the Ambassador or Consul General of the Embassy of the Russian Federation.

In addition, some applications may take 30 days if deemed necessary by the Embassy of the Russian Federation.
